Description
"New York Philharmonic" radio show transcription discs issued by The Armed Forces Radio Service. 50 minutes of a 60 minute radio broadcast on these two 16 inch, vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm discs. These discs were issed to radio stations for broadcast only and not available to the general public, very rare!
Please note these discs contain approximately 50 minutes of a 60 minute radio broadcast. These discs contain parts 1, 2, 3 & 4 of 5 parts.
"New York Philharmonic Orchestra" radio program #21 from December 24, 1944 featuring the New York Philharmonic performing from Carnegie Hall in New York City, conducted by George Szell with special guest soloist Artur Schnabel
Music includes:
1. "Piano Concerto In D Minor" K466 Mozart with piano soloist Artur Schnabel. This selection is complete
2. "Dances From Der Rosenkavalier" Richard Strauss - this selection is most likely incomplete as the closing minutes of the radio program are not on these discs, and there is no applause that would indicate the end of a selection
Discs are in Excellent or better condition with Excellent+ sound, beautiful discs!
Please note that 16 inch transcription discs will not play on most standard turntables due to their size. I can make a CD copy of the discs for the buyer only for $10
