“The Fleischmann's Yeast Hour” Radio Show Transcription Discs
Approximately 50 minutes of a 60 minute radio program on these seven 12 inch, aluminum, 78 rpm discs. These discs were recorded for Rudy Vallee and came directly from the estate of Rudy Vallee. The program appears to be complete with exception to the commercials which were not recorded
"The Fleischmann's Yeast Hour" radio program from April 5, 1934 starring Rudy Vallee with guests Joe Cook, Tom Howard, George Shelton, Helen Ford, Lee Sims & Ilomay Bailey.
Rudy Vallee states in the opening announcements "tonight, ladies and gentlemen, is Joe Cook Night". Vallee states that "We have persuaded him to leave his Lake Hopatcong estate long enough to tell us one of his nonsense stories".
Program includes two separate comedy sketches by Joe Cook.
Songs include "The Beat Of My Heart" vocal Rudy Vallee, "Music In My Heart" vocal Rudy Vallee, "Three In A Park" vocal Helen Ford, "My Mother Was A Lady" vocal Helen Ford, "Love Thy Neighbor" vocal Rudy Vallee, "Ill Wind" vocal Rudy Vallee, "May I?" vocal Rudy Vallee, You're My Relaxation". Lee Simms plays and Ilomay Bailey sings the first vocal version of "Bolero" with lyrics written by Ilomay Bailey
Discs are in good to very good condition with good to very good sound. The sound can be rough on these aluminum discs and they require a special stylus to be played
