SO HERE IS THE BIG QUESTION:  WHAT IS A RADIO SHOW?  WHY COLLECT THEM?  WHERE DO THEY COME FROM?

Well, those are good questions, especially if you have never known of them.  Radio Shows are syndicated productions by one of several large and small distributors who supply broadcast product to radio stations normally during weekends when the usual air personalities have a break.  Many air on Saturday or Sunday evenings or during overnight segments.  They often feature some of the best known voices for their genre from across the country thus the Dick Clark's and Casey Kasem's and Rick Dees and Dick Bartley and so many others.

People collect them for various reasons.  Some just collect the series because they like it and want them all.  Some collect their favorite artists or genre of music.  Rather than an album by the artist or a compilation bought at Wal Mart or downloaded through iTunes or wherever, they have a unique presentation of their favorite artist or music not available anywhere else and always with dj comments which were very entertaining.

Some collect interviews with their favorite artists as most shows had interview segments.

Believe it or not, some collect commercials especially old car commercials but certainly not limited to only those.

AND, these shows are in limited quantity.  They were printed just for syndicated stations in the United States.  Many have just a few still in circulation.  Some of the more popular shows may have as few as a couple hundred of each week's show pressed but think about it.  A couple hundred for some 200 million Americans and millions of overseas collectors who look for unique presentations of their favorite artists or form of music is about as rare as rare can be.   SOME SHOWS HAD FEWER THAN 100 PRESSED FOR EACH WEEK.     AND they are increasingly hard to find.

They were first distributed on reel to reel tape if the show goes back that far into the 60's, then later on lp, later on CD and even later (after 2000 for most shows) on CDR.  Now they are not available at all to collectors since they are distributed by digital download much like you get your music from iTunes.

These shows become rarer and rarer every day because the people who buy them hold on to them and the people who sell them, like me, are running out of them.   My best radio station contact for these shows is running very low ( I have gotten most of his ten year collection of some of the most popular radio shows of all time!)  and when all his are gone I will be at the mercy of finding a good deal here and there but never from a regular source and maybe not from a radio station but other collectors.  The shows that you get now and hold on to will never decrease in value and only increase.  Even during the recession which is hopefully ending, the value of shows did not diminish much.  The number bought diminished because people were afraid to spend their money and who blames them.  But the prices did not decrease much and again are on the increase.

I have prided myself since the start to provide the best and fairest cost with a  guarantee that you will be happy or I refund your money.  I sell them for near what I bought them for.  I give volume discounts and discount postage always.  As the postal service increases their rates, my shipping rates over the years have decreased.  And, I have one of the biggest radio show libraries in the world consisting of many thousands of shows, so many that I don't even know all that I have and am sometimes amazed when I go to look for one show and find another that I did not realize I had.

Finally, it is Americana at its best.  Whether the show be from the 60's or 2000's, rock, countdown, oldies, country, classical, religious, jazz or big band, it is unique and home grown.  And you just can't find them anywhere.  Even record stores that still exist will rarely have any.   Radio shows are wonderful representations of the real golden age of music radio.  And every  one you buy is  an original, not a copy, not a remake - all are limited editions in the hundreds at most and most much less.  Once you get hooked, like me, it is a love affair for life!  Welcome to the Club!

PLEASE NOTE MY LOW SHIPPING AND SHOW PRICES!!!   2.99 cent shipping for as many as you buy saves you big bucks!!!  Buy one or a hundred and pay only 2.99 cents total.  And for my international friends, you only pay shipping on your heaviest show and all others shipped with the same show ship for no extra charge no matter how many you have bought.          I AM PLEASED TO OFFER THIS SIGNIFICANT SHIPPING DISCOUNT TO YOU TO OFFSET THE  HIGH OVERSEAS SHIPPING CHARGES.  (Canadian buyers please note that ebay computes your shipping based on international rates but in fact the rates to Canada are not much higher than in the US so I will refund the excess shipping to you after your purchase)    YOU WON'T FIND A BETTER SHIPPING DEAL ON THE INTERNET FOR RADIO SHOWS

My prices are guaranteed to save!   Others say they are the lowest for radio shows on the internet - compare shop.  Add their prices and shipping costs and compare with mine.  You WILL save and the more you buy the more you save.

Now let's talk about this great and SUPER RARE series,   ROCK AROUND THE WORLD

Picture yourself back in the late 50's or 60's, even the 70's.  You were at one with to your transistor radio listening to the top 40 presented by your local radio station.  You had that radio glued to your ear or connected with the little earphone jack that immediately broke.  Your local dj was great.  He knew the music.  He had the gift of talking which rarely occurs anymore.  You loved the presentation of the music as much as the sounds.  You liked the station jingles.  And on weekends when the local dj's had off, you listened to either taped shows they did during the week to be played on the weekend or a syndicated radio show featuring one of the greats.  It was the golden age of rock.  Music was king and the dj's were just as popular.  You can relive those days whether you grew up then or just wish you had, on only a handful of oldies shows.  THIS IS ONE OF THEM.    Most of you who know me,  collectors who have dealt with me over the years,  know that my favorite series of all time is this,      ROCK AROUND THE WORLD.

HERE IS A DESCRIPTION OF THE SERIES THAT I AM REPLICATING FROM THE ROCK AROUND THE WORLD WEBSITE WHERE YOU CAN GO TO SEE THE TOTAL SHOW INDEX AND BUY MERCHANDISE.   The time for the syndication of the "Rock Around The World" Library of original interviews, performances shows and newspapers have arrived. Probably as much as any other media production made during the mid 70's,this comprehensive library of shows reflects the openness and giving spirit of artists that is unattainable today in a high pressure world of big-time corporate music. In the tradition of blues, jazz, and folk, rock rose as if a force of nature, captured here with enthusiasm and clarity, the indigenous, music rises out of the streets and onto the radio where cultural icons with the magnitude of Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, and Paul McCartney shares the "Rock Around The World" forum with upstart superstars and local bands. Where else but in "Rock Around The World" shows does one find a live concert of the "Rolling Thunder Revue" tour with Dylan and an intimate interview with David Bowie?

The 200 plus shows in the "Rock Around The World" collection represent not only the highest octane nostalgia available of the seminal years of rock's greatest artists but also embody and memorialize the spirit of commitment to the music which was shared by performers and audience alike. What was temporarily closed during the eighties and half of the nineties can be opened again by experiencing the static joy of listening to a show which wholeheartedly embraced the music and the artist without any outside agenda, soft drink or beer to sell a pure delight indeed.

The shows and issues fully represent a critical time when music sang the electric without the synthesized, over-compressed processed blandness of so much of popular music today. This is music with the force of social conviction behind it made by people who consistently draw from the well spring of their talents with their hearts. Such music resonates with not only people who grew up in England or America in the sixties and seventies, but many on the cutting edge of popular music today in the U. S. and U.K. and
around the world.

With the shrinking of the world through the acceleration of information and media transfer, the record of the roots of popular culture as represented by the Rock Around The World Show becomes more interesting and valuable. The original shows were made at the point where as a culture we jumped into the future never to be able to return completely to the comfortable isolation of pockets of local insulation and identity. Where today would a local band like Andy Pratt gather a national audience? If there is a weakness to the programs, perhaps it is an obscurity of this sort. On the other hand, this very weakness is in a sense also "Rock Around The World"'s virtue by communicating strength through a willing vulnerability. The willingness to provide a national forum to relative unknowns, for "the sake of the music" is all but absent today, and we are worse off for it. The rest of the world and especially the developing nations realize this and are more than eager to consume what we shed in haste, while the appeal of home-grown local music, wherever it's from, resurfaces and grows.

"Rock Around The World" provides an important link to the past which is a relationship which has been leveraged and expanded into the present via the Internet where the show receives thousands of hits a week. While maintaining a forum for fans and performers, it continues to present the fresh, insightful music promotions which distinguish the early shows.

"Rock Around The World" radio show was aired in top 160 major radio markets in the U.S. on the RATW Radio Network and the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service around the world. The newspaper was published in the top ten markets monthly for 19 issues.

This seminal series was broadcast from 1974 through 1977 and was distributed to stations on lp.  The series after its initial run was never repeated UNTIL the NBG RADIO NETWORK rereleased the original series on CD in 2000 a full 20-25 years after their initial airing.  While most of the original lp's are long gone, these special re releases are available in very limited quantities and are actually rarer than the originals; in fact, if you search ebay you will see that these cd rereleases START at $50 and go UP from there.   I am selling them for just a few bucks more than I paid for them; that is the way I do business.  I am a collector too and know that with a limited budget I have to do the best I can!

The show does not have a track list; it came with one but in this series, as in several others, the cue sheet only gave the commercial breaks and not the song lists because the board operators needed to know when to insert the local commercials.  So, you will not know the songs on each show but the featured artist is printed on the label and the best part of this show, aside from the music, was the back and forth with the featured artist in extended interviews.  Anyway , the station owner did not see the need to keep the cue sheets song list or not because his system was all automated so he did not really care where the commercials appeared in the show, the primary reason for cue sheets in the first place.  Therefore, I will tell you the theme for each show and you can also go to the  Rock Around The World website to see information about each show.

Each show is guaranteed to bring you the best in this most special genre of music and you will love it as you hear the show.

THIS SHOW WAS TITLED, "BAD COMPANY!..." and was Show #41 and brings you the most that you could ever hope for.  Just think, on a one hour show you will hear Classic tunes from the early rock era, all  GREAT  HITS  from BAD COMPANY and since this show is from the 70's, it is a classic  WITH LENGTHY INTERVIEWS, NOT JUST ONE LINERS OR A COUPLE OF SENTENCES LIKE OTHER RADIO SHOWS WITH INTERVIEWS.

It is a magnificent tribute and a classic hour that can't be replicated.

The CD is in beautiful, new condition, played only on the date of network broadcast , especially considering it was originally pressed to be played only once.  Each CD has the show number along with the name of the featured group and a picture of the group.  I have never seen a radio show that did anything like that before   CHECK THE PICTURE!!!    How many of these rare shows have survived as did the ones I have is anyone's guess.

Remember, when you buy this show, not only will you own the tunes but also interspersed between songs is fascinating commentary on the artists and songs.  Also, keep in mind that this and all the radio shows are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere.  It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining.  As well, it is a piece of radio history.  You just aren't going to find these shows anymore.  Think of what they will be worth in a few years!  (IF you wanted to sell.)  I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price; in fact, believe it or not, I paid a lot more than you will for most of these shows

As always, I charge only shipping on the first show you buy for U.S. buyers  and for my international friends,  so the more you buy the more money you will save.  Good Luck and God Bless You.
