One of the holy grails of Spanish groove. A killer mix of latin groove & spanish gypsy flamenco rumba with a ligth dose of jazz: tremendous sound with killer hammond and latin percussion.
Includes a tremendous cover of the killer "Los Amaya" track "Caramelos", done in a much more groovy with hammond, bongos, jazzy piano and thumping bass. Superb track compiled on "Achilifunk" .The LP also includes two covers of the godfather of spanish groove A. Carlos Santisteban ("Nuestro Ayer" and "No se")

*Were right in the middle of the funk zone of this record, and now it's "Caramelos"' turn. Another classic in the version by Josep "Papa" Cunill, the Paul Newman of rumba catalana, according to Peret. Cunill (which means "rabbit" in Catalan), a sensational pianist from Vic, classically schooled and amply experienced in Latin music, is the arranger of the complete rumba era of Discophon, and was instrumental afterwards in the metamorphosis of El Gato Pérez from progressive artist into rumbero. He released the superb experiment "Rabbit Rumba, 1ª Antología de la Rumba" (Tumbao TM 100001, B-23751-1972), an album on which, among others, Luís Abellan "Llimona" and Enrique Malla "el hijo de la China" work together recreating a bunch of classic rumbas. The precious sound of Cunill's Hammond X-77 prevails on this record. It's one of the most collectable LPs of the rumba era, copies of it are very hard to find and the Tumbao label only released it once.
