Description
Rare classic Queen 12'' single The original sleeve being withdrawn by EMI and replaced with a plain cover ..
This has been stored in a record box since it was first bought from Woolworths in 1984 , It has only ever seen the end of a needle a handful of times during the years that have passed The vinyl is Excellent with a full gloss and with only minimal hairlines most likely caused by the fact it was bought without an inner sleeve - There is very little if any spindle wear and it plays as it did when first bought - a stunning example
The all important outer cover does show some creasing to the four corners but nothing overly serious - There is some minor ring wear most notably on the reverse and some light spine wear however there are NO RIPS OR TEARS OR WRITING

It was always falsely reported that this sleeve was withdrawn at the request of Brian May, however it turns out not to be the case!
Brian stated on his own website in early 2007 in response to a letter asking why he requested the withdrawal of this sleeve that in fact he didn't request the sleeve be withdrawn - he actually preferred it but the record company felt that the sleeve was misleading and that the public would believe the song to be a live recording so the sleeve was withdrawn at the request of EMI.
Woolworths failed to receive the recall notice and they continued to sell the withdrawn sleeve for up to 5 days before their stocks ran out.
The sleeve has been counterfeited over the years and most are easy to spot as the vinyl on the bootlegs are usually coloured. Usually the black vinyl counterfeits have the word cassette mis-spelt on the back with just one 's'
