West Coast Psychedelia does not get any better or more musically competent than QMS, no matter which line-up or incarnation. This, their third Capitol album came out in the Fall of 1969 to rave critical reviews and popular acclaim. The line-up had changed slightly from their previous album ("Happy Trails", my personal favorite) and included Greg Elmore (Drums) - Late, Great John Cipollina (Guitar, Vocals) - Late, Great Nicky Hopkins (Keyboards) - David Freiberg (later of CSN&Y and Jefferson Airplane; Bass and Vocals). It appears that Nick Gravenites (of Janis Joplin’s Full Tilt Boogie Band and Cosmic Blues Band; also Electric Flag) contributed mightily to the album, judging by the song credits on back cover. This is the most musical and melodious of all QMS early albums and their great contribution to the West Coast music of the 1960’s. The songs are: Shady Grove - Flute Song - 3 or 4 Feet away from home - Too Far - Holy Moly - Joseph’s Coat - Flashing Lonesome - Words Can’t Say - Edward (the Mad Shirt Grinder). Nice relic of an era gone by, offered here in a very nice condition. Don’t miss out!

(a)           WE GRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG VG++. A few light abrasions (mostly just sleeve scuffs inflicted in storage over the years) ARE VISIBLE, but they appear fairly  insignificant relative to the overall condition of the vinyl, and are only moderately visually distracting. For most part, the vinyl looks impeccable, without any MAJOR visual flaws or imperfections. Much of the original luster is intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)          The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

-        Cover has two corners slightly worn / dinged  / bent.

-        Minor shelf wear noted on the opening side (nothing significant)
