Queen : Queen Rocks 2LP
This very collectable double album plays to a fantastic standard with no interference as such, just a couple of very light ticks on S2. I cannot emphasise enough just how incredible the clarity and power of the audio is and it has to be one of the finest examples of this rare album that I have ever listened to. The heavyweight vinyls are also visually very impressive with only very minimal marking which has no affect on the stunning audio.
The cover is near perfect with only a couple of faint corner crease and the picture inners are unmarked and in great condition. One of them just has a small side split.

Visual grading
The heavyweight vinyls are in great condition and still have a lovely glossy sheen. There are no marks or scratches and only a small number of very faint sleeve removal hairlines a common feature due to the coarse material of the card inners. S2 has a couple of hairlines that are a little more obvious but they have no affect on the superb audio. The second record also has some light 'specks' but again you often see this with this album, I'm sure it was just manufactured this way. They are only very faint and can only be seen when held at a certain angle. The labels are in superb order, unmarked and with no spindle wear.
Play grading
I have played S1 from start to finish and I can confirm the clarity and power of the audio is phenomenal! 'We Will Rock You' plays with stunning precision with only a couple of minor static ticks and 'Tie Your Mother Down' and 'I Want It All' then play 'as new' with no 'background' at all. 'Seven Seas Of Rhye' and the 1997 'Rocks' Retake of 'I Can't Live With You' end the side with outstanding sonic quality once more and no inner groove distortion either. A Mint side in every sense of the word.S2 'rocks out' to the same 'high end' standard starting with a perfect version of the classic 'Hammer To Fall'. 'Stone Cold Crazy' plays with incredible depth and power, I have never heard a stronger version, and 'Now I'm Here' also plays with perfect precision even during the quieter 'moments'. 'Fat Bottomed Girls' has a couple of ticks on the intro and then plays as per the other tracks on the side. 'Keep Yourself Alive' ends S2 with faultless clarity once again.

'Tear It Up' on S3 plays superbly with no interference and the long intro on 'One Vision' again shows just how infrequently this record has been played if at all! The clarity is stunning! The rest of the track is 'as new' and the both 'Sheer Heart Attack' and 'I'm In Love With My Car' are of the same standard. This side easily deserves a Mint grade as the audio could not be any better.
'Put Out The Fire' plays with stunning power and resonance and definitely sounds better than any Hot Space version. Indeed that could be said for many of the versions on this album and is just one of the benefits of heavyweight vinyl. The playback is so clean with no 'background' of any kind. 'Headlong' more than keeps up this exemplary standard and the classic 'It's Late' is another superb listen. The intro is practically 'as new' with only 3/4 minor dust ticks and Freddie's opening vocal has no interference whatsoever. From then on it plays with superlative quality with a depth and power that is 'high end' to say the least. A stunning Mint- version. 'No-One But You' was of course written especially for the album and it plays with wonderful clarity throughout. There are no ticks, clicks or pops and no static either. A fine way to end this classic album.
In summary this increasingly rare and very collectable album plays to a superb standard with no interference. Yes there are a couple of light ticks on S2 but they hardly qualify as interference in my opinion. This is vinyl! The clarity, depth and power across all four sides all points to an album that has been so well looked after and hardly played down the years. A FINAL UPGRADE version is a fair enough description I would say with a cover to match.
The Gatefold & Picture Inners
The glossy cover is in superb condition with no obvious wear at all. The edges and wide spine are perfect and for once there is no corner wear either. The opening edges are in great shape with only a couple of very minor 'crimps' and the front cover is unmarked and still has the original sticker top left. The back cover at first looks 'as new' and it is only when you hold it at a certain angle that you can see a crease running from the top edge to the opening edge about 12cms long. Hardly a problem and it is only faint. The inside of the gatefold is nigh on perfect with only one even lighter crease in a similar area. A superb example overall.
The picture inners are very clean and have no marking. The first one has a faint crease top right and the second does have a small side split on the left edge.
Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable / B&W 684 Speakers
The records have been cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
