Psychic TV Test Pressing 7-inch "The Orchids" b/w "Finale" VERY RARE PTV (Very Rare!)
This is a very rare Psychic TV test pressing of "The Orchids" backed with "Finale" from the album "Dreams Less Sweet", released in 1983. The label CBS pressed these to get radio airplay to help sell the album.
It's unclear how many of these were pressed in total but Temple Records originally only had 30 of these for sale as listed in their 1984 catalog as follows:
CBS pressed up Two 7 inch white label singles for radio promotion purposes only, these were to get 'Dreams Less Sweet' radio play. We have obtained only 30 copies of each. No more can be obtained. Thee Present and future rarity of these cannot be stressed enough. Minimum donation UK £20 each, rest of world £23 each.
Catalog number: CBS ?– XPS-189
You can see in the photos that there are no marking on the record label or record sleeve. Some of these pressings contained stickers on the sleeves, this one is clean.
You can see in the photos that the record etchings show the A and B side marked as XPS 189a and XPS 189b.
