PLEASE CONSIDER THAT IN THESE EBAY AUCTIONS I USE A STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE GRADING SYSTEM THAT CAN'T DISAPPOINT ANYONE BUT THIS DOESN'T MEAN THAT ,FOR EXAMPLE, A VG+ COVER OR A VG+ VINYL IT'S EQUIVALENT TO "BAD CONDITIONS" BUT SIMPLY THAT MY GRADE IT'S STRICT AND PROBABLY EQUIVALENT TO AN EX OF SOMEONE ELSE WITH NOT A SO STRICT GRADE. I HAVE SOLD IN THESE AUCTIONS EX- RECORDS THAT WERE SURELLY M- COPIES BUT I PREFERE TO BE STRICT TO AVOID ANY DISAPPOINTEMENT BECAUSE I TAKE GREAT CARE OF MY REPUTATION.
Record Collector Magazine Grading System MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
graded VG++/VG++ for a strict Record Collector magazine grading system
label: the label Red Hat Records it's a private press and catalogue number it's RHR 004. I can see a couple of spindle marks around hole on both sides and nothing else so EX-.
cover: the cover it's a pasted on type it's VG++ because does not have serious defect but there's a dedication with the artist segnature on back and on front the cover appear to be unglues in some minimal spots...but this is virtually nothing and the cover apear to be in close to perfect condition apart the signature. It does include a poster and an insert with lirycs in EX contitions.
vinyl: the vinyl does have 1 mark on the second track of side one but it's not feelable and do nothing during the plays. I can't see nothing else so at least VG++ in my strict grade.
review: This is a really a very rare record and I have see it another time only and in Popsike only. Musically it's a super interesting acid folk blues album with all self composed tracks and electric instruments. So this is not a traditional folk album as often are the UK private presses but a songwriting album in the best british tradition if we consider artists like Roy Harper, Michael Chapman, Kevin Coyne or similars and in this similarity he have a very appropiate electro acoutic backing band that does include Dave Sinclair on Drums, Flute of Tim Bridges, Electric Guitar of Glyn Adgie and Robin himseld that plays the 6/12 string guitar and Piano. This is basically a sad and nostalgic effort and the quality level it's more than appropiate so with a better promotion he have been deserved a surely better commercial success. I don't know how many copies have been pressed because there's no infos about this artist but considering the period no more than 500 copies so a super rare and excellent items for any progressive music collector...don't miss!
