CHRIS ROBISON: Manchild (Gypsy Frog #61974 USA 1974)

Private label issue from US stand alone figure…14 tracks that range from the opening “I’ll Be Your Man” a STONES sounding guitar rocker, 2nd up is “Soap Opra day”
another STONES direction tune,which starts to lead away in what follows is track that enters into the ZAPPA(Joe’s Garage era but predating it) and a sort of
BEEFHEART style lyrical non dimension,loosing all realisticlife on the out of head track “Death In The Family” side one ends with a couple of jazzier tunes(due to sax)
which have a real mad feel to them…side 2 is more acoustic with opening “Child” and “Brothers So Kind” sounding like an acoustic LOU REED doing downers and uppers
at the same time…the other 3 tracks prior to the last track on side 2 are all strange lyrical based acosutic tunes…last cut “Manchild” is more of a spoken word outing,
leading towards the DOORS “The End” classic…the whole of the album, will I’m sure appeal to everyone collecting those rare US “real People” records…never seen this
LP before but got it in trade from an established collector…Chris Robison's career covered a lot of territory. This spanned from being in the touring band Steam, in
the band Elephant's Memory, in the Velvert Turner Group, New York Dolls, recording with Keith Richards, John Phillips, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Link Wray,

Robert Gordon and John Lennon; in his own band Stumblebunny, his solo albums and his children's albums...

S/S = still sealed
M = mint , new or unplayed condition…cover is nice and new looking with no ring wear.
M- = near perfect copy, played only a few times.
EX = only slight signs of wear; very clean, only light surface marks which will not distract
        significantly from the sound…sleeve also has only slight wear, and is still in nice
        collectible.
VG++ = played often with moderate surface wear and some moderate noise, still plays well…
        sleeve may have medium overall wear or some ring wear.
VG+ = overall wear, but no skips of serious defects, more noisy sound during quiet passages…
        sleeve is well worn, usually with considerable ring wear.
VG = plays a lot, heavy wear on record and cover…guarantee does not apply to vg- or worse
        condition records.
