Description
This is the white label promotional copy of the Rolling Stones’ “Sticky Fingers” U.S. album in STEREO, catalog number COC 59100. Sticky Fingers was the very last white label promo album put out by the Rolling Stones. This promo version is completely missing the red lips and tongue logos on the record labels as the printing machine had no red ink when the labels were printed. Only the black outline of the tongue was printed. This rarity is documented in von Dieter Hoffman’s book “Rolling Stones, Das Weissbuch” and can be seen in the photo provided. The cover has a round red “D/J Copy Monaural” promotional sticker and is in VG++ condition, but the record is actually STEREO. Both the front and the back of the cover have a few small bb sized indentations in the center. They were apparently caused by the metal zipper of my other Sticky Fingers covers sitting next to this one in the box when I moved. The front cover is clean and flat with no creases. The spine is completely intact and in excellent condition. The inner paper record sleeve is VG++ with about 2 inches of scotch tape at the bottom of the inner sleeve where it had once split. There is also a crease along the inner paper sleeve about 2 inches below the top. The record itself is in VG++ condition. The vinyl on both sides is shiny and clean with no writing or stains on either label. Neither side of the label indicates the word “Stereo” which makes this look like a mono record, so along with the cover, you can fool your friends into thinking you have a mono copy. The matrix numbers give it away as a stereo record and it also sounds like stereo when played because it is stereo. The label on side 1 is very clean with a small almost unnoticeable spindle trail and is numbered ST-RS-712189R1. Side 1 has two very minor, almost unnoticeable hairline scratches. Side two’s label is also very clean with an almost unnoticeable spindle trail just to the left of the hole and is numbered as ST-RS-712190R1. In bright light, the vinyl on side 2 has a few small, almost unnoticeable hairline scratches. The side 1 matrix number etched in the dead wax is very faint and looks like ST-RS-712189 BB. The side 2 matrix number etched in the dead wax is ST-RS-712190 AAA. This is your opportunity to get your hands on a collectible of the Rolling Stones’ very last white label promo album with no reserve. I have been collecting Rolling Stones items for over 40 years. If there is anything that you are looking for, feel free to ask me. I might just have it! Priority shipping in a sturdy album mailer is $6.00 in the U.S. For those of you in Europe/Asia, first class mail is somewhere between $12 and $15. Money orders or cashier’s checks preferred please but those eBayers with excellent feedback (lots of positives with no negs) may use a personal check. Overseas winners, please pay with either PayPal or an international postal money order as bank money orders cost over $30 to cash in the U.S. I believe feedback is important and if you send me payment in a reasonable time, you will get a positive feedback the day it arrives. I do not hold your well deserved feedback hostage like other sellers.
