Description

A V to V+ disc on the (censored) Großdeutscher Rundfunk 78 rpm label, which produced recordings only ever for internal usage within the radio stations of Nazi Germany's broadcasting arm. This is a march about the Austrian Prince Eugene of Savoy who famously defeated the Ottomans during the siege of Vienna in 1683. The Nazis sought to make him a symbol of German-Austrian unity in the mid-30s, to mixed success.

This march was also reportedly played over the Reichsrundfunk during the German invasion of Belgrade, perhaps this is a copy of that same version? Unfortunately there is no information on the band playing it nor the conductor.
