Prince Buster All Stars – ‘Let’s Go To The Dance’ (Part 2, Instrumental Horns Cut) / Three Tops (aka Soul Tops) ‘Baby I Got News’ – Olive Blossom (Jamaica) (blank)

Unbelievably rare instrumental cut to Prince Buster’s ‘Let’s Go To The Dance’ (matrix number WIRL PB 3140-1) b/w the Three Tops ‘Baby I Got News’ (matrix number WIRL PB 3679-1). The Three Tops tune was released as by The Soul Tops on FAB 27 (1967) in the UK, but the far superior Prince Buster side remains unreleased and to the best of my knowledge unavailable outside of this original Jamaican 45. Not even Rock-A-Shacka in Osaka has compiled it yet! (O genki desu ka, Tomita-san?) The track fades in; most likely the tape just kept rolling when they cut ‘Let’s Go To The Dance’, so in a sense, this is a Part 2. (The rhythm track was also used for Larry Marshall’s ‘Wooden Heart’.)

Condition: Condition: VG (or possibly a notch better). There are some scuffs and some marks that cause clicks (particularly on the Three Tops side) but really nothing too obtrusive. All in all; not a perfect copy, but a decent-sounding one just the same. The blank labels are worn with some stains and writing (please see scans).

In any case, this is an ultra-rare (and ultra-great) record; impossible to find in any condition. And this one is O.K. Please listen to snippets of both sides here:
