Description

Porcupine Tree - Spiral Circus LP prog psych.  UK issue on Chromatic, 1996.  I bought this record new when it first came out.  I believe it was a limited pressing.  Great Pink Floyd like spacey prog psych recorded live.  Graded M-/VG+, cover/record.  Cover has a minor corner bump lower spine and a couple of creases on spine, otherwise as new.  Record has one small scratch on Side 1 that clicks for a few revolutions that keep it from being M-, arrived that way.  Labels are M-.  Record cleaned on VPI cleaning machine and placed in original poly-lined innersleeve.  Check my auctions for more obscure rock, prog, psych, etc. originals and reissues.

Grading Guidelines: (I do NOT inflate my grading, but follow strict Goldmine standards, and I do not use the ambiguous EX grade)

M- - Cover: Only a minor blimish allowable such as a bumped corner. Record: Only a minor mark such as a hairline scratch or tiny scuff from innersleeve allowed, nothing that would affect sound quality. Label: maybe one spindle track, but otherwise perfect.

VG+ - Cover: Bumped corners, minor creases (usually along spine from being pinched when pulled from shelf), or just a hint of seam splitting. Record: Hairline scratches or minor scuffs, only occasional ticks or minor pop, still has full shine and sound quality with no distortion. Label: A few spindle tracks and minor wear around hole. A well-cared for LP that most collectors would be perfectly happy with.

VG - Cover: Worse corner bumps, more creases, hint of ring-wear starting, sticker residue, moderate seam splitting, minor writing on cover, some age yellowing, minor hazing of lamination, or minor lifting of lamination. Record: Hairline scratches, moderate scuffs, few deeper scratches, slight dulling of record shine, moderate ticks and occassional pops, some surface noise between tracks or during very quiet moments, but still with full fidelity and no distortion. Label: Spindle tracks evident, sticker residue, minor writing. A used, but not abused record.

G - Cover: Corner bends, moderate ring-wear, minor tears from price sticker removal (sometimes colored in), moderate hazing of lamination, moderate lifting of lamination, seam splits, cover opening a little ragged, and general wear from much handling. Record: Many hairline scratches, a few deep scratches causing clicks, audible scuffs, starting of distortion on dynamic passages, minor background noise throughout, but no sticks or skips. Label: Spindle marks, sticker tear, writing. Not a trashed record as most would grade a G, but a GOOD record that can still be enjoyed.

F (Fair) - Cover: Bad creasing, heavy ring wear, dull lamination, peeling lamination, bad tears, bad seam splitting, or overall wear from much handling. Record: Loss of shine, many hairline scratches, many deep scratches, bad warping, sticks and/or skips, background noise throughout, loss of fidelity and distortion. Label: Bad tears, paper worn away around spindle hole, many spindle marks. Only the rarest records would be worth saleing in this condition, of which I have none to sale.

P (Poor) - I do not have any records rare enough that would be saleable in this condition.
