Description

This is a picture disc vinyl LP of some very early music recorded by Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree (as part of a duo with Simon Vockings) in 1983 when he was 15 years old.    Altamont were very influenced by early 70's German electronic music, particularly that of Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze between 1970-73, before they started to use rhythms and sequencers extensively. Consequently the music is mostly dark electronics with little or no rhythm.    Steven Wilson listened through the many hours of music Altamont recorded and liked some of it enough to release this LP.

The LP was issued on Steven Wilsons Headphone Dust Label in September 2002 and was limited to a total of 300 copies only: Catalogue Number:  ALT LP 4
