  Record : Placebo - '1973' - (CBS S65683) - 1973 Condition (Record/Cover): VG+/VG++

I must be mad but I'm selling my treasured '1973'. This is widely regarded as the best of the four Placebo/Marc Moulin records and is obviously incredibly rare.

A step by step analysis of the lp is simply not needed! This is quite exceptional from start to finish and the Counterpoint reissue of Placebo works only casually included songs from this record. This is probably the most forward thinking jazz record I have ever heard in my life - It is underpinned by thunderous drumming and moulin's extraordinary keyboard and synthesiser skills. Electric and muted horns cascade into complex arrangements that make your headspin.

This is inherently funky but not funk - I think a comparison would be with the infamous 'Stark Reality' record. Lovers of Argento film scores like 'Profundo Rosso' will be left open mouthed at songs like 'Balek'.

I'm going to grade this very strictly. It has some quite a few paper scuffs and one large mark across side 1 which does not affect play in any way - Otherwise the vinyl is excellent. The label has minor corner wear and a small biro mark on the front cover.

Obviously this record is incredibly rare and one sold on ebay last week for over $300 - Well I've set a reserve and its very modest.
