Original 1st US pressing promotional copy of Pink Floyd’s debut studio album “The Piper At The Gates of Dawn” released on Tower Records on October 21st, 1967. This promotional issue was pressed for the West Coast radio station DJs at the Rainbo Records, Los Angeles, California plant. The back cover contains the factory identifier in the form of the “6” number in the lower right-hand corner. 1st print kaleidoscope photo of the band featuring Syd Barrett contains the “ST-5093” catalog number and Tower Record logo in the upper right-hand corner on the back. On this issue Tower Records used a large rubber ink stamp reading “PROMOTIONAL RECORDS”. The stamp is located at the center top of the back cover. 1st print Tower Records orange labels with a large “t” logo, 2.75” pressing ring and “ST-5093” catalog number. 1st pressing vinyl with the very early 1st matrix numbers: Side 1 - ST-1-5093 S-1546; Side 2 - ST-2-5093 S-1547. The album comes with the original Tower Records plain white die-cut inner sleeve.

I grade the cover as Excellent. It's very clean and doesn't have any splits, ring wear, writing, residue or wear, just only some very light shelf wear on the back as well as some age discoloration along the edges. The vinyl is graded as Excellent and has only a couple of very light non-feelable surface marks as well as scuffs from the original paper inner sleeve which is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any splits or tears. The scuff- and wear-free labels in Near Mint Minus condition are very clean and barely have any spindle marks. The vinyl sounds great only having some very light occasional static which most likely will go away if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
