Description

What I am offering here is a family of three "See Emily Play" U.S. singles. A trilogy as it were.

These are the finest of the Syd Barrett-era single collectables in the world. All of the U.S. releases of SEE EMILY are represented here.

These "Picture sleeves" were not produced for the public but were more used as a tool to promote the records and to catch the eye of program directors and disc jockeys in hopes of getting airplay.

It is said that Tower only produced around 100 copies of each of these promotional-only picture sleeves. How many are still around 39 years later?
And these are in outstanding condition. Rare and Very Cool.

The items are listed here and described in this same order below:
• The original Promotional Only Picture sleeve with
its Radio station white label promo record.
• An original Stock copy of the U.S. release record
• An original "year later" re-solicitation Title Sleeve, only

DESCRIPTIONS:
• The original Promotional Only Picture sleeve with its Radio station white
label promo record:

Pink Floyd's second U.S. single See Emily Play b/w Scarecrow
Released June 16,1967 and shipped to radio the week before.
Tower 356 MONO
These are alternate mixes, different from the LP versions, unique to the single.
Produced by Norman Smith.

Sleeve condition:
Light pink sleeve with black print...no tears, splits, or writing. It's not crisp and perfect, but it sure is in great shape. A true keeper.

The upper left front shows slight beginnings of ring wear. Also, there's slight edge-wear on both sides of the sleeve, where the record has ever-so-slightly weakened the edges. But the edges are not split at all!

The back side shows minor hints of age.

The back also has the great chart reprint from Melody Maker Top 30, July 15, 1967. It says "NOW! # 10 and CLIMBING." The other bands on the chart are also what makes this extremely cool...Procol Harum, The Beatles,The Hollies, Traffic, Small Faces, Cream, the Kinks. That was THE TIME!

Record condition: Two minor surface marks - one on each side of the record - both measuring less that 3/4 of an inch...probably caused from a fingernail. They are only on the surface, LIGHTLY marked I emphasize! The record looks UNPLAYED, still with its original factory sheen.
The Matrix numbers are hand-etched in the dead wax trail off.
A side : 61461 T-356 R-1126
B side : 61462 T-356 R-1127

• An original Stock copy of the U.S. release
This is a stock copy of the record that you would have bought (or order, I should say, if you were hip enough to know about these guys at the time) at your local record store...with an original Tower Company sleeve.

This is still a scarce record because anybody who did buy it, loved it and wore it out.
Both sides have minor surface scuffing...nothing deep, slight surface noise. No pops and more importantly No high-end distortion.
These are alternate mixes on the singles only...different from the LP.
Martrix numbers are hand etched in the dead wax trail off...
A side: 45-61461 P1
B side: 45-61462 P1

• An original "year later" re-solicitation title sleeve, only
Pink Floyd's second U.S. single See Emily Play b/w Scarecrow
Released June 16,1967

Sleeve Condition:
White paper sleeve with black print ...no tears, splits, or writing.
No ring wear but you can see a slight impression where the record rested inside the sleeve. Edges are sharp and tight.
There's no record with this sleeve. I never saw the need since I already owned the white label promo listed above with the original promo-issue sleeve. Something perhaps the new owner can chase. I see them from time to time on the internet.

Good luck bidding!
