Pink Floyd 'Pulse' 4 x LP and Hard back Book as a Box Set (Cat No. 7243 8 32700 1 9)
Media Condition: Very Good
Sleeve Condition: Good
This has seen a few house moves and aesthetically, shows signs of that especially where the box and the spines of the 4 LP's are concerned.
The photo's have tried to show this. In addition, the inner sleeves in which the vinyl is housed all have some form of splits to the sides due to movement. However, all sleeves, both the outer and inner one's are not creased, ripped or have been repaired in any way. To avoid any further issues, all the 4 LP's have been placed in Mobile Fidelity liners to give added protection.
Now onto the vinyl. This is not an audiophile's dream. However, whilst there is surface markings, all 4 LP's appear to play through fine. Yes, there is some noise (clicks, pops, crackles etc.) especially at the start of most sides. This will be most likely due to the amount of times these will have been removed and then replaced into the sleeves. If you can forgive the small amount of noise in the opening minute or two, they play very well. My system is a Rega Planer P3 with Audio Technica VM540ML cartridge upgrade, Rega pre-amp, Yamaha amp and Bower & Wilkins CM7 speakers and the vinyl has also been cleaned on a Project VC-S2 ALU cleaning machine.
There is a re-issue of this now available for less but for collectors you can't beat a 1st press and one with character which is definitely what this has (and a price well below the Median on Discogs too!).
On a final note, the condition of the book is when all said and done, quite excellent. It hardly looks to have been viewed at all and looks to have faired very well.
The grading is based on an established and accepted grading system although it is usually done conservatively unless the item is still new and sealed in which case both the vinyl and sleeve will be graded as mint unless comments describe otherwise.
Photos will usually confirm serial and other identification numbers, track listings etc. especially for those items that have been opened and played. If deemed appropriate run out matrix and other label identifiers will be also be included although if not you are welcome to request them.All records will be dispatched in appropriate packaging to protect the contents and usually done so as signed for 2nd class subject to the item value and the level of cover required for insurance if necessary.
