Description
I have owned this 7” demo single since new. The owners of a local record shop didn’t like the record, did not intend to stock it and let me have this special version at half-price (I think that they must have been a bit old to be Pink Floyd fans)!
Anyway, it’s been played a few times since then but for many years it’s been languishing in my collection, not seeing the light of day. So, realising that this item is pretty rare, I thought that it’s time to offer it to those who might appreciate it more than me.
I think that it plays pretty well on both sides (on our B&O Beogram 3300) but it’s impossible to say how it would have played back in 1967 for comparison. I don’t think that my ‘Dansette’ then was particularly fussy.

White labels (A side with large red ‘A’)
Brit. (10.3.67) printed and K T embossed on central ‘punch-out’
A side: 7XCA 27877 45 on label. 7XCA 27877-1 stamped at 6 o’clock on vinyl run-off, which also has Mother number ‘1’ at 9 o’clock, Stamper letter ‘G’ at 3 o’clock and Tax Code ‘K T’ at 12 o’clock.
B side: 7XCA 27878 45 on label. 7XCA 27878-1 stamped at 6 o’clock on vinyl run-off, and again figure ‘1’ at 9 o’clock, letter ‘G’ at 3 o’clock and letters ‘K T’ at 12 o’clock.
The sleeve
Black label printed on pink paper (see photos for description)
Some wear at the edges but fortunately no splitting
The outline of the disc can be seen on the sleeve.
Overall, I would put its condition as ‘Very Good’ based on the Record Collector's Grading System (see http://www.vinyl-vault.co.uk/grading.html). Of course, it might well benefit from a deep groove clean.
Note
Following a question from a potential bidder, I have added photos of the only two surface scratches of any note, one on each side. Neither seems to affect the playing quality.
