Description

I have come across around 150 E.P's from the early to mid 1960's. Most of them are French pressings, pressings from around Europe, but also a Few from the UK What is remarkable about these records is that they are in absolutely pristine condition. Both the Sleeves and the discs themselves I would say that each one visually is in Mint or Near Mint condition
It looks as though these have either never been played or perhaps played, recorded and carefully stored.
I am listing these 3 per day until they are all gone
I have also taken the opportunity to play and record each one and add that recording to this auction page, thus allowing YOU to be able to listen to the actual record before making a decision to place a bid.
The winner will have their record placed into a new PVC outer sleeve and the record will be placed out side of the sleeve to avoid any splitting of the cover Your record will be placed into a proper square cornered professional mailing box, with as many stiffeners as needed to safely protect your purchase If you win more than one record I will combine shipping to save you postal/shipping charges I do insist that the records are sent tracked and signed for the protection of both buyer and seller

PETULA CLARK - A COUTEAUX TIRES
This 1964 FRENCH E.P was issued on the Vogue Label and has the catalogue number EPL 8198 THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE E.P AND ALMOST UNHEARD OF IN THIS CONDITION AND THE RAREST OF ALL PETULA CLARK'S FRNCH E.P'S
The tracks on the record are 1. Filature 2. Ascenseur 3. Theme Petula 4. Blousons Noirs 5. Francoise 6. Le Tresor

The sleeve is in astonishing condition.
I first took a look at the rear where the non laminated porous white surface is still very white, with just a little handling to the surface. This is unheard of as most copies of any 60's E.P will be stained, browned, aged, and show handling marks, but this one is just almost as good as the day it left the factory. And this is precisely how all of the records in this collection are as well.

Also the flipbacks are properly stuck down and have not suffered any damage or showing any stress lines.
With French E.P's the company making the sleeves placed a perforated tab on the upper inner section of the rear surface. This tab has the Catalogue Number and artist printed on it. It is pretty rare to find this still intact as most were removed at point of sale (possibly for inventory or reorder purposes) This one is perfectly attached

The laminated front surface still has a deep shine to it and is unblemished . The corners are still very sharp and square. There is a light shadow of record shape from the serrated rim of the record gently pressing against the sleeve

THIS HAS TO GRADE CLOSE TO NEAR MINT

Sliding the disc out of the cover the first thing I noticed was the incredible 'as new' shine to the vinyl. You will know that most 60's records are heavily marked due to constant play on poor record players, and you would expect there to be multiple hairlines, surface or otherwise on these records, but incredibly this vinyl looks like it has never been played. Magnificent mark free record that even when placed under a spotlight shows no more than  few tiny light wispy hairlines where it has perhaps moved about inside the sleeve.
The labels don't show any marks, fingermarks of stains. There is no writing on the labels like many records from this era, and the black text is just perfect

The Matrix Numbers in the dead wax are SIDEA: EXP 3889 VOG   and SIDE B: EXP 3860 VOG

Visually this has to Grade very close to MINT
Below this you will find the audio recording of the entire record, so please take the time to listen to the E.P and enjoy the superb audio performance Clear, crisp MONO reproduction that still performs as good as the day it was pressed Outstanding clarity with just a little light background heard in some of the more silent passages
This Audio performance also has to grade very close to  MINT MINUS
