Title=FOR ADOLPHE SAXE Bro Records 1, recorded June 1967. A true Holy Grail record. Historically known (through reissues) by the title of the first piece on side A, the record actually came out with just the group’s name as the LP name. Record is miraculously unblemished and unplayed—a fabulous copy. Titles are apparently machine-or rubber stamped onto white labels. Cover is in fine form. The open edge (the top, in this case) is slightly ragged from years of handling; the fields on front have a little bit of residue that likely is delaminated from nearby records on the shelf. Ringwear breaks through the lamination for one small spot in upper left. Nonetheless, this is a remarkable copy of a fantastic museum-piece. This is one of about 800 pieces of vinyl from the LP collection of saxophonist Evan Parker, all to be auctioned over the next year by this seller and seller "soulful-i". Roughly one half of the collection comprises modern Jazz LPs (including large collections of Coltrane and Dolphy originals) brought to England by Parker on his early Sixties trips to the US; those will appear here. Parker acquired hundreds of other avant-garde and improvised music LPs from fellow musicians and contemporaries; these will be auctioned by this seller.
