Description
In 1984 I attended a concert at St. David's Hall, Cardiff in which Paul Tortelier played the Dvorak Cello Concerto (with his son conducting the London Symphony Orchestra). Prior to the concert I ate at my favourite local place (sadly now closed) and to my surprise Paul Tortelier was also there. Naturally I didn't intrude upon his privacy but waited until he had finished his meal. Only as he entered the concert venue did I ask him politely if he would sign my programme, which he was very happy to do. I've had this autograph for many years but now sadly the time has come for it to find a new home.
