You are looking at possibly THE rarest McCartney issue in the UK. This is the in house promotional copy of the Wings album “Back to the Egg” in a picture disc format. This is the Holy Grail of any McCartney collection and this is a once in a lifetime chance to get your hands on a stunning record. They just don't come along every day!!
This is the GENUINE item, there are many copies out there but this is 100% genuine and came through a direct link to the 1979 origins. The authenticity of this item is proven by the matrix numbers only present on the originals
YEX 987-2 and YEX 988-4
Note also the fact that the record perfectly lines up with the die cut sleeve-that is, the lights etc all match up perfectly which is not the case on many forgeries where the printed picture is often the wrong size. This can be seen in the photographs below.
Not only is this item incredibly rare but this record has also never been played and is in perfect condition.
The rarity of this item cannot be underestimated; it is one of the most sought after McCartney records and is a MUST for any serious collector. There were only 200 copies of this picture disc made, but only 100 accounted for as 100 were lost in the taxi on the way to the press launch. It was pressed in 1979 to coincide with the release of the album, and copies were given ONLY to family and close friends. More importantly this item was never on sale and due to whom it was distributed to it is of great importance to McCartney fans.
Due to the incredibly small number produced it is much rarer than a black and gold Please Please Me, an export issue album and even a low numbered White Album (which are considered up to 1000), and possibly rarer than a Love Me Do demo single, thus it is a MUST for collectors and should be snapped up as you don’t see this very often at all!!!
This is the crème de la crème of McCartney records and would be the prized posession of most collections. Not only this but it would certainly be an investment as the number of McCartney fans grows and grows.
