This is the very hard to find second album from PULP, This album sees several changes from the band's 1984 debut album"IT". The overall mood of this album is much more sinister and aggressive in fact the album's subtitle is "TEN STORIES ABOUT POWER, CLAUSTROPHOBIA, SUFFOCATION AND HOLDING HANDS. Alternately recalling such early Smiths tracks as "Suffer Little Children" and some of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' "The Carny".
FREAKS also finds front man lyricist Jarvis Cocker handing over the vocal reins to guitarist Russell Senior on two particularly dark songs, the first "Fairground" opens the album with a swirling tale of a freak show, while the second "Anorexic Beauty", is an ode to a distressingly thin woman ("Brittle hands and thin cigarettes, so hard to tell apart" )The explosions into guitar white noise are done very well, better than previous Pulp attempts. Elsewhere, "Being Followed Home" presents a story of stalking set against a carnival style musical backing. The music builds in intensity, playing over and over as the narrator's fear upon hearing the footsteps of a stranger increases. FREAKS is an altogether disturbing album that should be in any Jarvis Cocker / Pulp fans collection, and is not an album that comes up for sale too often

Tracks on this mini album are FAIRGROUND - I WANT YOU - BEING FOLLOWED HOME - MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE - LIFE MUST BE SO WONDERFUL - THERE'S NO EMOTION - ANOREXIC BEAUTY - THE NEVER ENDING STORY - DON'T YOU KNOW - THEY SUFFOCATE AT NIGHT.

The VINYL, The Vinyl is in excellent condition. both visually and audibly. Needless to say it plays free from sticks or skips.

The SLEEVE, The single sleeve is in very good to excellent condition, showing just the lightest wear. Needless to say there are no unwanted names or splits etc.

The LABELS, The custom fire labels are nice showing hardly any spindle wear. Needless to say there are no unwanted stickers or unwanted writing etc.

The Lyric inner is also very clean free from splits etc and no unwanted writing etc

I try to be accurate in my grading as I know what its like to buy miss graded items but won't insult you by writing song lyrics etc
