advanced release promotional = CLEAN....Original 1969 first pressing of the very first Mike Bloomfield album on the highly collected 360 Sound Columbia label of the sixties...

includes the original printed 360 Sound inner sleeve

It's Not Killing Me was released only months after Bloomfield left the mighty ELECTRIC FLAG and two years after his legendary stint with the Butterfield Blues Band...

Michael Bloomfield was the first white blues guitarist of note, a skilled technician that was taught his craft by the Chicago bluesmen that took the teenaged prodigy under their wing. As talented as he was, however, Bloomfield suffered from deep-seated insecurities and constant insomnia, which in turn resulted in a long-time battle with drugs and alcohol that the guitarist inevitably lost. At his best, though, Bloomfield was a transcendent talent, and he helped popularize authentic Chicago blues with white audiences during the mid-1960s, thereby influencing a generation of young blues-rock guitarslingers.

Michael Bloomfield’s 1969 debut solo album rarely plays to the legendary guitarist’s most obvious strengths. Stylistically, save for a couple of numbers, it’s all far removed from Bloomfield’s work in The Electric Flag or Super Session. Instead, It’s Not Killing Me is a bluesy edged collection of tunes, but having more in common with weedy stoners than the Chicago blues Bloomfield built his reputation on. Of course, one of Bloomfield’s resume bullets is aiding and abetting Dylan’s move to electricity, and the lead off tune, “If You See My Baby,” is a reminder of that alliance. The material on It's Not Killing Me has a demo like, one-take appeal.

These are some low-down, blues-content songs from the heart of the hippie vibe: idiosyncratic, loopy and arresting in casual stoner manner that grow with repeat plays ... we know of one collector who has 5 copies of this Lp...now that's loving it a whole bunch....
