Acoustic acid-folk band PORODICNA MANUFAKTURA CRNOG HLEBA (translation: "The Family Manufacture of Black Bread") was founded in 1968 in Belgrade by Maja de Rado (vocal, 12-string guitar), Jugoslav Vlahovic (prim, acoustic guitar) and Slobodan Kuzmanovic (acoustic guitar). In 1969 Petar Pavisic joined the band on double bass, while as the fifth member, a flute player, Branko Malkoc finally settled after two predecessors.
The band was associated with renouned Belgrade alternative theatre "Atelje 212" where they frequently performed. Debut album "Stvaranje" was recorded in 1974 and was promoted live in that theatre, featuring a recital on sitar and slide projection. They disbanded in 1975 after failing to score commercial success with their album and few singles. Maja de Rado pursued a career in the classical music and literature, while Jugoslav Vlahovic built a reputation as a prominent LP cover designer for famous Yugoslavian rock bands (TAKO, RIBLJA CORBA, S VREMENA NA VREME, POP MASINA, BULEVAR...). He was also rewarded on many occassions for his art works and caricatures.
