Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. RARE & CLEAN ...ORIGINAL 1973 first pressing of one of the great Krautrock albums of the psychedelic underground era... Easily, the fan favorite FAUST album. "Faust IV" manages to be both experimental and engaging, but accessible enough to draw you in, even at its outer limits. This was Faust's last album of the early period, and their label had insisted they go in a different direction. This work is definitely easier on the ear than some of their other work like the LP "Faust Tapes" ('73)), and is still exciting. Faust has written the LP off and it is not included in their boxset. Whatever their complaints(??), it is a great album. The very first track, aptly titled "Krautrock" is a churning, tumbling trance rock honoring the term that was henceforth applied to the wave of pioneering German bands from the early and mid-70s. The track "Krautrock" clocks in at around 12 minutes, and mines similar territory as "Can", with washes of electronic sound thrown into a rhythmic blender, set to a repetitive spin cycle. However, this isn't quite the ambient moonshake of the other band, but rather a boisterous, almost punkish rock mantra. Julian Cope calls it "fuzzy", and that about sums it up. "The Sad Skinhead" still contains awesome marimba-like passages to a beat after the yelling that opens the song.There are funny lyrics about being a skinhead like "Going places,smashing faces,what else could we do." Without a doubt, "Jennifer", with its simple, repetitive lyric, throbbing amped up bass-line, cacophonous electronics mid way through and acoustic 'saloon' piano closing is the album's masterpiece. "Just a Second" begins like a standard hard rocker, and knowing Faust, soon turns into more space-rock play, imitating the sounds of a burbling river before returning to the rock. "Picnic on a Frozen River" starts off with an annoying, though catchy rock melody, before descending into glorified 'Krautrock' improvisation with excellent complex bends and twists. The band really synergizes on this piece. "Giggy Smile" shows off Faust's large folk inflections, and very accessibly for this band. "Lauft...Heisst..." serves as an interlude with spacey atmospheric sprays. "It's a Bit of Pain" is an unexpected finish to the album, a good one with its dreamy, ambling tempo swinging from laid back to blood curdling in the twinkling of an eye and showing they have a bite...there's cool heavily distorted guitar solo accents at the end. FAUST IV is the diversity of Krautrock and they were unashamedly dissimilar to any other band using asymmetrical time signatures and peculiar instrumentation.
