Description
This is an auction for the debut LP by Pink Floyd entitled "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" released in the UK in 1967 on Columbia Records Catalogue number SCX 6157. This copy is a first press in Stereo on the Blue/Black Columbia with the matrix numbers of YAX 3419-1 and YAX 3420-1 and the stampers of 1 O and 1 O.
The vinyl is visually in Very Good++ condition with just a couple of very light superficial marks. It still has a very nice sheen. The record sits nice and flat on the turntable and plays through without and skips or jumps. There is some background noise during playback which is more evident on side 1 but the audio is clear and vibrant throughout. Overall i would grade the audio on side 1 as very good and on side 2 as very good+.
The labels , with the KT Tax stamp on side 1, are in excellent condition.
The E.J.Day triple flipback sleeve is in very good condition. The spine and edges are fully intact. There is some very light creasing to the laminate in a couple of places and the bottom right corner has some storage wear and a very small amount of discolouring. There is a small name written on the rear in grey so it does not distract. Overall the sleeve still looks great.
The Lp comes with the original Harvest Inner Bag which is in very good condition. The Lp will be sent in a new polylined inner sleeve and removed from the cover.
Overall a very nice copy of one of the best debut Lp's of all time.

Grading:- MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc
