NEXT WE HAVE WE HAVE PINK FLOYD RARE LONDON 1966/67 - THE FIRST STUDIO RECORDINGS FROM THE CLASSIC 60's PINK FLOYD LINE UP ON 10" VINYL Following the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love, Pink Floyd's 'London 1966/1967' is celebrated on Kscope. The songs were originally recorded for Peter Whitehead as part of his legendary 1967 "Tonite Lets All Make Love In London" film - semi-documentary about the "swinging London" scene of the sixties. The film featured rare performance footage from the 60s line-up at Sound Techniques London & material from the legendary '14 Hour Technicolour Dream' extravaganza in April '67 at Alexandra Palace & the UFO Club. 'London 1966/1967' contains two rare performances from the classic Floyd era with Syd Barrett, when they were at their most adventurous and exploratory, including an explosive 17 minute version of "Interstellar Overdrive", recorded at the legendary Sound Techniques studio in early 1967. Originally released in 1987, A Momentary Lapse Of Reason was updated and remixed by David Gilmour and Andy Jackson for The Later Years Box Set. By returning to some of Richard Wright's original keyboard parts and by re-recording new drum tracks with Nick Mason, producers David Gilmour and Bob Ezrin have restored the creative balance between the three Pink Floyd members. The front cover features an alternative photograph from the original album cover photoshoot.

This Vinyl was remixed in 2019 from the original master tapes and contains 2 LP's packaged in a Gatefold and pressed on heavyweight 180 gram vinyl at half-speed 45rpm for enhanced audio quality, with a 28-page booklet.

It's not a dramatic change from what was released nearly 35 years ago though the music feels cleaner and clearer and strikingly modern. And the band treated it well with this release by pressing the album at 45 RPM to give the low end room to breathe and Wright's work a chance to really shine. It's a fitting execution for yet another of Floyd's creative peaks on which the group proved able to survive and grow following the departure of founding member Roger Waters.

The release of Delicate Sound Of Thunder encapsulates a band at their best. Alongside the classic live album, included in 'The Later Years' box set, this edition features a 24-page photo booklet and includes 9 songs not included on the 1988 release of the album.

In 1987, Pink Floyd made a triumphant resurgence. The legendary British band, formed in 1967, had suffered the loss of two co-founders: keyboardist / vocalist Richard Wright, who left after sessions for The Wall in 1979, and bass player and lyricist Roger Waters, who had left to go solo in 1985, soon after the 1983 album The Final Cut.

The gauntlet was thus laid down for guitarist/singer David Gilmour and drummer Nick Mason, who proceeded to create the multi-platinum A Momentary Lapse Of Reason album, a global chart smash, which also saw the return of Richard Wright to the fold.

Originally released in September 1987, A Momentary Lapse Of Reason was quickly embraced by fans worldwide, who flocked to attend the live tour dates, which started within days of the album's release. The tour played to more than 4.25 million fans over more than two years, and, as a celebration of the enduring talent and global appeal of Pink Floyd, was unsurpassed at the time.

Filmed at Long Island's Nassau Coliseum in August 1988, the sound was completely remixed from the original multitrack tapes by longtime Pink Floyd engineer Andy Jackson with Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, assisted by Damon Iddins.

Pink Floyd's stellar supporting cast for the live dates included: Jon Carin (Keyboards, Vocals), Tim Renwick (Guitars, Vocals), Guy Pratt (Bass, Vocals), Gary Wallis (Percussion), Scott Page (Saxophones, Guitar), Margret Taylor (Backing Vocals), Rachel Fury (Backing Vocals) and Durga McBroom (Backing Vocals).

 A SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS STEREO - Pink Floyd's second album A Saucerful of Secrets, released in July of 1968. Sadly, A Saucerful of Secrets was hugely ignored in the US but made it to #9 in the UK upon release in 1968.

Sales notwithstanding, the album is a classic!
The album was re-released in Japan in 2001 with packaging that looks like the original EMI vinyl. The remastering was the same as the 1994 EMI remastering but sounds incredible.

Originally released in 1967, The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn is the group's only title completed while under the leadership of original vocalist/guitarist Syd Barrett. Recorded at the now legendary Abbey Road Studios and featuring the early classic "Interstellar Overdive", the album is considered one of the quintessential psychedelic records of its era.

'I'm full of dust and guitars,' Pink Floyd's Syd Barrett told Rolling Stone. Here's what that sounded like. The band's debut is all playful, psychedelic imagery and acid guitars. 'Astronomy Domine' shows the group's pop side; 'Interstellar Overdrive' shows its spacier freakouts. Released at the height of the Summer of Love, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn sums up the headlong feeling of the moment just as aptly as the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper.
