This hard to find UK 1st pressing DEMO of Paul's debut solo 45 dates from just prior to its February 1971 release on Apple: R 5889

Both labels have push-out centres with 'DEMO RECORD NOT FOR SALE' printed on them.

Recorded in New York, it was cut at Apple Studios by George 'Porky' Peckham*

The 'KT' purchase tax code is present in both run-outs.

Matrices: 7YCE 21523-1U & 7YCE 21524-1U

Rare DEMO stamper codes: -/JR & -/JR ('JR' stood for 'Journalist Review')

*George Peckham's 'PEKO' & 'GP' initials are hand-etched into the run outs.

Housed in its original matt black Apple company sleeve.

 

CONDITION

Labels: MINT -

A superb set with just two or three tiny spindle trails around each 'B' side centre hole only.

Visual: EXCELLENT +

Clean, deep-gloss playing surfaces which are unmarked in strong daylight and bear only a few harmless wispy paper-type hairlines beneath halogen light.

Audio: MINT

A wonderful sounding disc with no audible issues whatsoever.

Cover: EXCELLENT

Clean & flat with minor repair to the rear flip-over but no writing, tears or seam splits.
