Description
• Disc condition: VG+ Vinyl is flat to the platter. Both labels have faint trace of stickers either side. Moderate spindle wear, and visually looks towards VG++ with a few trace hairlines and a couple of very light scratches. Audibly plays with just some light minor crackle. No skip on "Money" track.
• Sleeve condition: VG+ Matt printed gatefold sleeve. Has a little wear to top/bottom edges and lightly towards spine edge. Both panels are open on this copy, and the hue of the sleeve is blue/black (or dark blue) identifying it as correct to this version. This edition did not have the "Dark Side" round hype sticker on the cover.
• Matrix/stampers: (machine stamped) SHVL 804 A SHVL 804 B
• To be clear, this is the rarer first pressing contract press with just A and B on matrix (without stampers, mothers letters, and without lacquer signs! This is confirmed by an Italian Floyd website as being a special contract pressing made for another country (probably Denmark in this instance). The album was manufactured and printed in England and then likely exported to the country in question. Legally in those days (as now) companies were obliged to put exactly country of original manufacture and you will see "made in Gt Britain" on the labels and sleeve. As we also have had an A2/B2 matrix in recent times, I can confirm the cut is exactly the same for both. It comes with correct black polylined paper inner and comes complete with 2 glossy posters and 2 Fasson Fasprint permanent stickers. This contract pressing is almost definitely rarer than the A2/B2! Hardly ever turns up! Don't miss it!
