Background -
Arthur Grumiaux, Baron Grumiaux (21 March 1921 – 16 October 1986) was a Belgian violinist.Born in the Belgian town of Villers-Perwin, on 21 March 1921, Grumiaux was only three years old when his grandfather urged him to begin music studies. He entered the conservatoire in Charleroi at the age of six; the normal entry age was eleven. He studied violin and piano there until the age of eleven, when he graduated and moved to the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels to study violin.
He variously has been described as having made his debut in Brussels at the age of 14, or in 1945, although his debut is more commonly said to have occurred in 1940. This performance was made in Belgium with the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra playing Mendelssohn's concerto.
Grumiaux had a long-standing relationship with Philips Records, lasting more than 20 years, and recordings are available from them of him performing works by Handel, Bach, Vivaldi, Michael Haydn, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Bruch, Tchaikovsky, Henryk Wieniawski, and Johan Svendsen.
A recording of Grumiaux's performance of one movement from Bach's Sonatas & Partitas for Unaccompanied Violin, the "Gavotte en rondeaux" from the Partita No. 3, is included on the Voyager Golden Record, attached to the Voyager spacecraft, as a sample of the culture of Earth.

The LP is from the ultra-rare PHILIPS series of out of print LPs.
Condition & Notes -
The vinyl LP and Outer Jacket are in Near MINT minus condition. The LP has no marks on the vinyl that we could see - only our own fingerprints and a bit of dust were noticeable. It sparkles almost like a brand new record. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer copy of this super rare LP.
The jacket is made of heavy cardboard stock and is also near mint - just lovely. There are no seam splits, no discoloration - just terrific overall shape.
A Short Note About LP GRADING -Mint = Only used for sealed items.
Near Mint = Virtually flawless in every way.
Near Mint Minus = Item has some minor imperfections, some audible.
Excellent = Item obviously played and enjoyed with some noise.
Very Good Plus = Many more imperfections which are noticeable and obtrusive.
For best results, always properly clean your LPs before playing them.
This LP is an audiophile quality pressing (any collector of fine MFSL, half speeds, direct to discs, Japanese/UK pressings etc., can attest to the difference a quality pressing can make to an audio system).
