INCREDIBLE PHIL SPECTOR DEMO DISC AUCTIONS!
Here is an incredible collection of one-of-a-kind studio demo disc recordings from the 1950s to early '70s--all with involvement (relative or direct) by the great producer PHIL SPECTOR--the man who created the legendary "Wall Of Sound" and so many masterworks of American popular music since the 1950s.
Unlike regular-issue records, these acetate-covered metal discs were produced one at a time, to offer producers, performers, songwriters and other key music industry participants a rough mix to take home, or a potential release to be considered by record company execs. Acetates were never meant to last. Little did these folks know, at the time, that these primitive reference copies would be tomorrow's sought-after collectibles. And well they should be; they are forgotten pieces of musical history, capturing moments the public was never meant to hear.

Could this be the strangest of my Spector-related demo discs up for auction right now? (Judge for yourself; please check out the others!)
Musically, it sounds like it would have come from the just-post-Teddy Bears era as did "Well I Mean," another one-of-a-kind Spector acetate up for grabs at this time, but this one, also on a one-sided 10-inch acetate, is on A & M, for whom Phil was recording in 1969! The only things on the label besides the A & M logo are the typewritten title and "45 RPM" (see scan).
Long baffled by how such a primitive rockabilly rave-up wound up in this form, I’ve developed a theory that it’s a much older acetate that Phil had on a 78 and transferred to 45 during his stint at Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss’s outfit. And while the singer isn't credited on the label, there’s no mistaking that voice! The person who sold me the record got it directly from the estate of Spector's mother, Bertha. Priority Mail shipping is (generally speaking) $7.50 to East Coast, $6.50 to Midwest, $5.50 to West Coast. Results may vary, depending on packed weight of record(s). Media Mail is also an option, although it's more risky. If you insist, we'll ship via Media Mail, but we'll need your Zip Code before we can calculate postage costs!

For one LP disc, the average cost of shipping for USPS First-Class Mail International is $14.00 USD. The actual shipping cost will vary, depending on your location.
