This is a MEGA rare and greatly desired item on the HUGELY collectable Vertigo swirl label. Original 1971 album (I have owned this from new which is even older than my marriage 1972). This will be very difficult to part with but I need the cash (perhaps I ought to consider selling the missus - wonder if there is an Ebay category).
Excellent condition hardly played and scratch free, since I have always recorded my albums onto tape. The sleeve maintains its original vibrant colour having been stored vertically between other albums. It shows some minor wear commensurate with its age but has no tears bends or scratches (see pics). This is a rarity in itself since the fold out nature makes this easily damaged. Everthing about this LP makes it so wanted, from the quality of the music to the easily damaged and elaborate Roger Dean designed sleeve. Also comes with the original vertigo inner sleeve, this is as I bought it back in 1971. Art collectors have payed in excess of £150 just for the sleeve. This would surely be a stunning investment piece and makes a great addition for the serious collector.

What can I say about Patto? If you are familiar with the band I need say nothing more, if not read on. They are quite simply the best kept secret of the seventies. Short lived they released only 3 albums of which "Hold Your Fire" is regarded as their finest, a rock classic. Featuring the incredible talents of:
Ollie Halsall said by many to be the worlds second best guitarist (after Hendrix - sorry Clapton fans but your man can't hold a candle to Ollie). He was also a terrific tuned percussion player and composer. Sadly no longer with us following a drugs OD. Mike Patto vocalist, similar range to Joe Cocker but with a heart rending delicacy in his chords, excellent piano player and composer. Also sadly died of cancer. Clive Griffiths terrific dependable bass man often overlooked but kept the band tight. Clive was seriously injured in a car crash and now can no longer remember being in the band. Also seriously injured in that crash was John Halsy the bands drummer. John was a real character and was instrumental in much of the bands onstage humour, he was also an excellent drummer. Some may remember John from the Beatles spoof band "The Ruttles".
I saw them many times live and their stage performances were legendary, certainly the highlight of my musical memories. As well as their powerful music they had a innate sense of humour. For example I once saw them perform a complete stage set completely naked, hidden only by their instruments.
There you have it a TOP TOP item in TOP condition, don't miss out on a piece of music history. As I said above this will be hard to part with and the reserve price reflects this. I want this to go to a serious collector who will value what they have here.
