Description

Up for auction is a super rare original copy of the Patti Smith album "Horses" originally released on Arista Records (AL 4066) in 1975.

-Guaranteed original First Pressing
-White Label Promotional copy
-RL Robert Ludwig mastering etched in run-out
-Sterling stamp in run-out
-"Horses" printed in white on cover
-Promo sticker on back cover
-Original laminated paste-down cover
-No UPC/bar code on cover
-Original Arista paper inner sleeve

Note: Rare First Pressings of this album had the title "Horses" printed in white.  Later pressings it was printed in black.

Condition:
The cover is still in nice condition with some moderate signs of wear.  Front looks pretty clean, lamination is still shiny.  Has some faint ring wear top and bottom.  Small stain lower left corner.  Factory punch hole lower left--all promo copies have this punch hole.  Seams are generally good with light wear, though there's a small separation upper left corner where the edge started to flake, and another very small separation upper right corner but not very obvious.  Back has light ring wear at bottom.  Grade: Very Good Plus (VG+).

The vinyl is in very nice condition, still has much of its original shine.  No obvious scratches or scuffs, but under strong light, you can see some very faint, superficial pressing "rash" that does not affect the quality of playback, which is excellent.  No marks around spindle holes, indicating little previous play.  Looks like it's been played maybe a couple times previously, but handled with care.  Well-preserved copy.  Grade: Excellent (EX).
