RARE 78 RPM "Walkin After Midnight"

Patsy Cline changed country music nearly to the same extent as Hank Williams but in a completely different direction. If it were not for Patsy Cline, there might never have been some of the modern sounds like Shania Twain.

Talking the twang out of country and making it all a bit more uptown was something that happened pretty early on with Patsy. It wasn't long after her appearance on the Arthur Godfrey Talent Scouts program, that Patsy was in Nashville cutting this single, which was to become her first country hit.

"Walking After Midnight" was a heck of an introduction, storming up the charts to #2 in March of '57. Record has four chips out of the outer edge and several scratches. The largest chip is 1/4" wide and 1/4" into the record. It does play but has seen better days. Please ask me any questions.

Decca had pretty much phased out 78s by 1956, but a few were produced for jukeboxes. For a honky tonk juke, this is one of those ultimate records-to-have. Get it while you can. On the flipside is "A Poor Man's Roses."
