PASCAL COMELADE

SENTIMIENTOS (79/81) LP

Dys

Limited Edition: 500 copies

Unique 2nd album from Comelade experimenting with toy instruments, EMS synthi, tapes together with David Cunningham on Mnemonists' DYS label.

Some info on the release:  Issued in 1982. Comelade's second album after Paralelo, released on Mnemonists' DYS label (Maurizio Bianchi, Biota, Conrad Schnitzler). On this one Comelade uses a wide variety of instruments and non-instruments, from EMS synthi, tapes, toy instruments, ukelele, drums, maracas, vibes, guitars, plastic saxes, organ, piano and many more. He's aided by David Cunningham, Armand Miralles and Sissi. One can find on this record a great Brian Eno cover, a tribute to Syd Barrett and some other tunes that you may recognize. Highly recommended!!

Pascal Comelade is a french-catalan artist and multi-instrumentalist, known for his various experimentations with toy instruments and gadgets. His music consists usually of 2-3 minute pieces, quite minimal and he's often described as a ultra-minimalist rocker or as a post-modern classic. His early influences include Victor Nubla (Macromassa) and Richard Pinhas (Heldon), leading to his first album under the name Fluence. In 1983 together with Pierre Bastien and Cathy Claret, he formed the Bel Canto Orchestra, that was quite influenced by Music for Amplified Toy Pianos of John Cage. A short living project of Comelade was a minimal / synth project together with Florence Berthon and Thierry Den that lead to the release of a mini-LP on the Atem label under the Fall of Saigon moniker. Known subsequently for his collaborations with personas like Robert Wyatt and PJ Harvey. Known also for his love for cover versions of pieces of The Clash and The Rolling Stones, while he researched also catalan traditional music resulting to a couple of albums. Released albums on labels like Tago Mago, Parasite, Les Disques de soleil et de l'acier, Delabel, G3G, Eurock, Monsieur Vinyl Records, ADN, Ayaa, Illusion Production.

Condition: Vinyl lies in excellent condition, crystal clear and shiny. ATTENTION: Cover seems not to be an original cover (the original is a black cover with a picture), it is a plain white cover with pasted paper on it on the front, it lies in excellent condition too. Still highly collectable and rare.
