Sonnabend Gallery A-1982-43 (1974, USA)
Limited Edition #548/2000 & Signed by Artist
American minimalist composer, performer & visual artist Charlemagne Palestine performs at Sonnabend Gallery NYC, 1974 his beautiful drone music exploring harmonics & timbres on a 9-foot Bosendorfer piano. Privately produced by Sonnabend Gallery & recorded by Kurt Munkasci. This is Limited Edition #548 of 2000 & boldly signed by Palestine. This was Palestine’s first recording and thus very scarce.
Records (2) are in NEAR MINT+ condition (appear unplayed) & the stunning hand pasted gatefold jacket is also NM+. Very scarce in this condition & rarely offered at eBay.
I recently acquired a small but superb collection of modern, experimental, improvised, & electronic music. I will be offering 50 or so items from this collection at the end of each month. This kind of material rarely surfaces so keep looking for future auctions.
