DescriptionThese are original and authentic ticket for a show THE BEATLES, ROY ORBISON and GERRY AND THE PACEMAKERS did on the 4th June 1963 at the Birmingham Town Hall, United Kingdom.
The show itself was interesting as it was being headlined by ROY ORBISON (His first UK Tour) who was actually a replacement headliner on this tour after DUANE EDDY  had dropped out. Roy was due to be the headliner with the Beatles and Gerry & The Pacemakers as two of the support bands but both bands had a recent number ones and the country was gripped with the "Liverpool Sound". It caused massive interest in the tour with both bands on the bill. As a result Roy Orbison was dropped to third on the bill. The days when stars from the USA could come to the UK and top the bill had ended and Roy faced crowds of mainly young female screaming audiences on this tour all wanting The Beatles and Gerry and the Pacemakers. but each night Roy would open with a haunting rendition of "Only the Lonely" and both calm down and win over the audience. It turned out to be a successful tour for Roy Orbison and a break through tour for the Beatles. 
There was 21 dates in this tour including this Birmingham show and other acts on the bill included David Macbeth, Terry Young Six, Erkey Grant, Louise Cordet, Ian Crawford and compare Tony Marsh,
This really is an authentic and genuine piece of early music BEATLES History. Note I also have BEATLES, ROY ORBISON and GERRY AND THE PACEMAKERS autographs from this show so keep checking my other items as I add more on. Also got the original Programme and Handbill.

AuthenticityThe owner of these autographs I'm selling, collected them all personally from the stars in and around Birmingham, United Kingdom at a number of venues including The ATV Studios in Aston (known as Alpha Television Studios) which was based around the old Astoria Theatre, The Birmingham Hippodrome, Birmingham Town Hall, The Plaza Ballroom in Handsworth (this was part of the famous Plaza circuit in Birmingham), The Coventry Theatre, Birmingham Odeon and also at a number of hotels where the stars stayed including The Albany Hotel (now a Holiday Inn).
Many were taken from the ATV Studios in Aston where there was a weekly music show that aired in the UK called "Thank Your Lucky Stars" which had 5 or 6 music acts on every Saturday night. Some were also taken at a bar which was situated opposite the theatre where the studio was based. 
Most of the autographs appear on clippings from popular music and film papers at the time like Sounds, Melody Maker and the New Musical Express. The pictures were then loosely taped into an autograph book of which they are separated now for sale. Some are on publicity cards that the artists carried to put autographs on. 
This is a massive and a unique one of a kind collection and a real snapshot of the popular music, TV and film scene in the UK between 1962-1964.  So authentic period autographs and items from the early 1960's. Rare!
