PRESTIGE: PRLP-7129 "RELAXIN' WITH THE MILES DAVIS QUINTET"

  Early Pressing MILES DAVIS LP  on the PRESTIGE Label featuring JOHN COLTRANE on tenor sax

This auction is for an early pressing, mono, black on yellow, Bergenfield, NJ address label, PRESTIGE Records, 1957 release of "RELAXIN' WITH THE MILES DAVIS QUINTET" PRLP-7129, by MILES DAVIS, complete with DEEP GROOVE.   The album features:  MILES DAVIS - trumpet;   JOHN COLTRANE - tenor;  RED GARLAND - piano; PAUL CHAMBERS - bass; and  PHILLY JOE JONES - drums.  The lineup on this record features the iconic musicians responsible for the development of "cool" jazz, influencing music and players to this day.

The LP is not play graded but visually I would rate it VG+ based on Goldmine standards: Disc has retained most of its original luster.  There are a few visible scuffs and marks but they don't look bad and feel superficial.  Moderate spindle marks.  There is a visible ding on the very edge of side 2 but it does not come near the grooves.  The original jacket looks nice with full intact gloss and shows light wear, with no writing, marks, or dings.  The seams are intact and tight with no seam splits except a 1.5" split on the center top and a 1" split on the top opening edge.  Some wear to corners with mild dings, nothing too severe.  Back cover is also in nice condition with light wear, no marks, or dings except a small name and date in ink on the upper edge.  Record ships with a non-original, poly-lined inner sleeve.  No reserve!
