CONTEMPORARY: C-3532 "ART PEPPER MEETS THE RHYTHM SECTION"   

  Original Pressing ART PEPPER LP  on the CONTEMPORARY Label

This auction is for an original, first pressing, mono, black on yellow label, CONTEMPORARY Records, 1957 release of "ART PEPPER MEETS THE RHYTHM SECTION" C-3532, by ART PEPPER, complete with DEEP GROOVE.  The original jacket is made of the older "heavier" cardboard.  The album features ART PEPPER - alto;  and the famous rhythm section who backed up many huge names in jazz including Miles:   RED GARLAND -  piano;  PAUL CHAMBERS - bass; and PHILLY JOE JONES - drums.

The LP is not play graded but visually I would rate it NM based on Goldmine standards: Disc has retained nearly all of its original luster and looks beautiful.  There are no visible scratches or scuffs and appears well cared for.  Minimal spindle marks.  The original jacket also looks great, showing light wear, with no writing, marks, or dings except a light crease on lower edge.  The seams show light wear with NO seam splits.  Light wear to corners.  Back cover shows mild surface wear and toning, with a light stain on lower right corner and edges, otherwise in good shape with no writing, labels, or marks.  Record ships with non-original, ply-lined inner sleeve.  No reserve!
