Dr. Timothy Leary horrified "the man" and his immediate family with his proselytizing o'er the mind-expanding benefits of LSD in the 1960s. A 1967 documentary of Leary's controversial live lectures featured the acidic guru as "The Guide," Dr. Ralph Metzner as "The Voyager" and Rosemary Woodruff Leary as "The Divine Connection."

The documentary featured some top-flight psych-raga music, played on the veena, an Indian stringed instrument, alongside guitar and tabla. Veera virtuoso Maryvonne Giercarz, guitarist Lars Eric and percussionist Richard Bond composed and performed this eerie, transcendent music as a backdrop to Leary's rant-'n'-chant about the wonders of dropping acid.

This seldom-seen Original Soundtrack Album bears the musical fruits of this psychedelic journey. It's a much-sought after artifact of the trippy '60s that is prized by psych collectors worldwide.

CONDITION: [jacket] Visible rubwear to front and back.  Side seam has some small scuffs and nicks but is intact; all lettering smooth and readable. Top seam has some scuffing and rubwear, but is intact. Bottom seam has some heavy scuffing at lip edge, but is intact. PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR SALE stamped to lower right hand corner back jacket. Overall, the jacket rates a solid VG+.

[disc] Disc needs a good cleaning! Playing surface has some light but visible scratches and paper scuffs, but appears seldom if ever played. Vinyl is glossy and bright. White promo labels are clean and unmarred. As is, this is a strong VG++ copy of this scarce psych-acid disc! Cleaned up, it could push higher in grade, to be certain! Disc comes in original stock Mercury sleeve, with period ads for other Mercury artists. LP's catalog number is written in magic marker on the sleeve.
