Description

Hi All, and welcome to the continuation of the thinning out of my boy’s stuff.  I’ve had a little more time available this week so I have been able to select a few of the more choice cuts in the collection for your consideration. The following few albums are up for 10 day’s this time around, and are due to finish Sun 31 Jul.  For your consideration we have:

Title: BEGIN HERE By THE ZOMBIES

Cat No: LK 4679

Matrix No: SIDE 1 - ARL 6709 1A; SIDE 2 - ARL 6710-1A

Issue:Original 1st UK Issue 1965 on the RED DECCA Label

Vinyl Condition visual: Overall the vinyl grades VG+ and very nearly Ex; It has retained most of its gloss and sheen and the vinyl itself is very clean.  The surface has the lightest of marks and one or two very small, light scratches, mostly these are non-feelable and in the main are handling marks from removing it from its sleeve and not as a result of needle damage etc.  The vinyl lay's perfectly flat on the turntable and there is no evidence whatsoever of groove/track wear on either side.

Vinyl Condition Playback: Playback is graded as VG+; I have just finished listening to it and it's fab. Virtualy, but not quite a silent run in and out.  There is some very low level static and one or two mild clicks/pops present on each side, but I stress mild and just a few. The low level static is more evident on the quieter songs as you would expect, but this is not distracting even when listening with headphones which I have just done.  The bottom line is this, if you want an absolute silent copy I would recommend that you buy a CD!  This is a 46 yr old album delivering a VG+ playback.

Label Condition: VG+; As you can see in the pics, no damage, writing or blemishes at all.  A few spindle marks but nothing too drastic.  All text is clear and legible.

Cover Front: Graded as VG+; The cover is clean and damage free.  All sides are square and intact, no splits or tears and no tape marks.  Mild laminate creases in places as would you expect for cover at this grade, these are mainly but not exclusively, on the spine side.  The white border area is starting to go off-whitish/yellowing, a lttle darker at the corners, but this is fairly normal and commensurate with age and grade. There is very slight and mild ring-wear/depression to the front which cannot be seen when viewing the cover head-on, but it is evident when viewing the cover at angle. It is nothing drastic but mentioned for completeness. Overall a fab front.

Cover Back: Graded as VG; The unlaminated back is clean and clear with no writting at all. Very slight age related rubbing, but the only notable mark is a very small area, top right above the MONO text, where a very small piece of the top layer of paper has come away;  I'm talking tiny, 3mm x 3mm. The edges of the back cover are starting to brown slightly as can be seen in the pics, again all very normal on albums of this vintage.

Spine: VG+; The spine has retained most of its shape but it is not fully squared, it is now gently rounded off.  All text is clear and legible.

Corners: VG; Slightly bumped, but surprisingly they have maintained quite a sharp edge. Discolouration and miniscule laminate loss in places.

Summary: Good stuff like this doesn’t present itself too often and it’s certainly going to get more difficult to find in the future. Here’s your chance to grab a very decent copy of a much sought after album.  I have done my best to describe it accurately and honestly for you and I have taken the best shots I am able, if you want a specific shot retaken pse email me. I send all records in proper mailers with stiffeners so they should arrive as they left me.  If you are seeking an Ex to Mint copy, pse do not bid on this, this copy is VG+.  Finally I offer a no quibble refund If you’re not delighted with it, less postage of course.  I can’t be fairer than that.  Good Luck.

PS; Hi to all those from all corners of the world who have bought records, posters, Beatles bits and other RnR oddities from me over the last month or so, thank you for your kind comments and emails.  I hope there's something of interest for you in my future auctions. Good Morning Good Morning, It's Just Another Day, Woke up, got out of bed, dragged a comb accross my head!
