Description
This is an original copy of the legendary Glastonbury Fayre triple album on Revelation from 1972 featuring performances from Glastonbury Festival of 1971 plus some donated tracks. The whole package contains three vinyl LPs, a large fold out poster sleeve and two booklets. The original plastic cover,site map and fold out pyramid are unfortunately missing but the important stuff is there.
Album one features a superb 24 minute version of Grateful Dead's 'Dark Star' with tracks by Brinsley Schwartz and Mighty Baby on the reverse. The condition is near mint bar a couple of very minor marks.
Album two features Marc Bolan, Pete Townshend, David Bowie, Hawkwind and Skin Alley on side one with a 23 minute stoned out jam from Daevid Allen and Gong on side two. Again the condition is pretty immaculate bar a couple of minor marks.
Album three is pretty far-out! The Pink Fairies take up side one with The Edgar Broughton Band's 20 minute work-out of 'Out Demons Out' on the reverse. You can almost smell the joss sticks! The condition belies the age as it looks like it's barely been played.
The fold out sleeve is pretty good too although there is a darkish scuff mark on the front. The missing plasic sleeve has been replaced with a plain one. There is a 32 page booklet about the festival which is stapled and totally intact bar a half inch tear on the back. The other booklet is The Electric Score which lists all the tracks and their origins and is in excellent condition.
I've tried to describe this as accurately as possible and despite not being fully complete this is still as good a condition copy of an increasingly hard to find artefact from the progressive hippy era as you'll find. The music is excellent throughout and the whole package is pretty lavish. Not bad for being 37 years old!
