Open Road were first assembled by Donovan for his 1970 album, Open Road. Initially, it was only him along with Mike O'Neil (keyboards), Mike Thompson (bass), and John Carr (drums). After Donovan left to continue his solo career, the group added Barry Husband (guitar and vocals) and Simon Lanzon (keyboards). Windy Daze was the group's only album together.
