This record has the number 732/732-13 which is not even mentioned in "THE BIBLE" of VOGUE PICTURE RECORDS, the book VOGUE, THE PICTURE RECORD by Edgar L. Cury, can you believe it ??? This record therefore was unknown until now....I whish I would have a record player so I could check if the songs match the titles on the record.

I do have the regular record with the same songs and the numbers R732/R732 also listed, it is the next one I listed, check it out, I'm not delirious, this record must be one of a kind....... This record is in like mint condition, no scratches, nice colors and not yellow as they sometimes are.. This record has the following songs (I did not have a chance to listen to the record):
I DON'T KNOW WHY (I JUST DO), and IN THE MOONMIST, by ART MOONEY AND HIS ORCHESTRA, VOCALIST JOHNNY D'ARCY.
Thomas Saffady had an idea he thought would make him a Millionaire. Instead of a standard 78 RPM black vinyl record, he wanted to produce records with an attractive picture on it. Tom Saffady founded the Vogue Picture Record Company after WWII. The company was owned and operated by Tom Saffady (1916 - 1954) and was located at 4875 E.Eight Mile St., DETROIT, Michigan. The first Record was released to the public on August 30, 1947, it was the number 707. But from the start, Vogue experienced delays in manufacturing the discs and securing top talent. A planed mechanical carousel that could press 80 records a minute never worked properly, and although advertising brochures boasted that Vogue had 42 individual pressing machines, each one capable of making 40 records an hour, other reports state that due to vinyl shortages, rarely were more than four of those machines in operation. Only 15 month later, the company went into bankruptcy. the Vogue picture records were almost twice as expensive as the regular black 78 RPM Records and the consumer ignored them despite the colorful art-work underneath the clear grooves. Today, these records are highly collected for their art-work to decorate party rooms or just to enjoy the visual and acoustic art.
I did not test this records, I do not have a record player which would allow me to do that, sorry! Save on shipping by buying more then one, you only pay $ 5.00 shipping (48 contiguous states only) regardless how many you buy. This would be a perfect Christmas gift...Good luck!

NO RESERVE AS ALWAYS! THIS ITEM WILL SELL AT ANY PRICE!

I have 29 other VOGUE picture records listed on ebay, and also a copy of the book "VOGUE, THE PICTURE RECORD", by Edgar L. Cury. This book is very rare as it is number 46 of only 500 printed and has a price guide inside. I will sell the book together with a copy of the "ANTIQUE WEEK", Vol.35, issue No. 1748, which has an article on VOGUE picture records with the title "These platters have passion", by Chuck Miller.
