Description
Oliver (Oliver Chaplin): "Standing Stone" 1974, UK/Oliv OL1. Disc is M-, cover has tiny corner bumps, still M-. TOP COPY of this legendary flipped-out electric acid folk blues LP! This one really floored me right from the first listen, I think in retrospect it's the best private LP that has ever surfaced from Britain. To me it sounds like an ambitious young Captain Beefheart disciple joining up with Tractor! Layers of fuzzed-out electric wah-wah guitars blend with crystal-clear acoustic picking while the vocals sound like they're straining through a distorting tube amp... this record is too cool to be true. There's a nice repressing available so there's no reason not to have this LP now, but on offer here is a very rarely-sighted pristine original with "BBC" stamped in the trail-off as it was pressed on the same equipment that produced the BBC Transcription Discs!

I pack/ship once a week, usually on Friday. I use sturdy cardboard boxes designed for shipping records, and I remove the disc from the cover to prevent seam splits during shipment.
