Estate find.

12" vinyl 78 RPM 6 record album set with bound in photos by Gjon Mili & drawing by David Stone Martin. This is the complete 1949 album. Nothing is missing or damaged. It even comes in its original cardboard shipping/packing carton. Note also the inclusion of a customer satisfaction reply card, which is attached by a paper clip to the first record pocket.

"The Jazz Scene" produced by Norman Granz. This album is #3102 of an edition limited to 5000 copies. It is also signed by Norman Granz.

Featured artists & soloists include, Duke Ellington, Harry Carney, Charlie Parker, Machito, Flip Phillips, Neal Hefti, Ralph Burns, George Handy, Bud Powell, Ray Brown, Max Roach, Willie Smith, Lester Young, Nat Cole, Buddy Rich, Coleman Hawkins, Oscar Pettiford, Dodo Marmarosa, Barney Kessel & others.

Old store stock from Hart's Record Shop in St. Paul, Minnesota. Mr Hart also was a regional distributor. He closed his operation in 1952 following an auto accident. Hart Callender kept his inventory stored in his basement until his death in 1996 at age 88. He always planned that he might get back into the record business, but he never did. His huge inventory was sold at auction in 1997.
