Nick Drake Five Leaves Left Ultra Rare Pink Island 1st UK Press
Magnificent Near Mint Vinyl on both sides!!!!!!!
Vinyl: Near Mint. A superb specimen. Both sides barely (if ever) played! I can’t see a mark anywhere. All the gloss and sheen of a record that’s been kept well. Beautiful labels too.
Cover: Being un-laminated, this album’s cover’s potential for wear was high, but this one has worn well. Some scuffs, small creases and fading of the green ink on the front cover. Also on the green part of the cover, some pin-prick white marks near the title, specifically near the ‘ES’ of ‘LEAVES’ and the ‘FT’ of ‘LEFT’ (I have tried to photo these in the many pictures I’ve submitted, so do look at all of them). Bit of spine and peripheral wear. The words ‘627’ have been written in biro inside the sleeve entrance (so not visible on the outside). There is a small linear split in the top of the second gatefold which is so thin as to be almost unnoticeable. The back cover is very clean with no writing or marks.
All-in-all, the cover is sturdy, and would grade as EX.
Note: This is the original 1st Press E. J. Day Gatefold Sleeve, with earliest text: ‘ISLAND RECORDS LTD, BASING STREET, LONDON W.11’
Labels: Pink Island Logo labels. EX+/EX+ both sides. A small non-descript, fingerprint smudge on either side from the ink of the logo. Two on side 2. But all are faint.
